Default VF coupe wheels and tyers question

G'day all you moparians!

1stly...my search is over!!! (wooohooo)

found a car to purchase! its a 69 VF coupe with a 440! so that should be nice

few questions bout wheels though,

• what is the widest wheels i can shove in the rear with little to no mods?
• what is the widest tyer that i can shove in the rear?

• what is the the stud pattern and the offset?

Im asking because its most likely the 1st thing ill change!

YAY!!!...then maybe, just maybe a paint job! (i dont like the paint at the moment!)

I dont have the car (yet) but i have agreed to buy it already.

THanks heaps guys!

OoOhh...any one has pics of Chrysler on the Murray? i couldnt go!

Because I heard that early fords stud patterns fit the early vals..and I thought that early fords were 5x114.3?

i dont know! but id like to!

at best your going to get a 7" rim and a 235/60/14 tyre under the back, DONT put a big fat tyre on the front, anything you want to know about a Val like this ask me, you can check me out and contact me thru www.unorthodox-racing.com

I had 275 X 14 Posi's under my hardtop without minitubs. They were on 14 X 8 rims that I bought secondhand. I have no idea what the offset was on them.

the 275s rubbed occasionally, but nothing severe. and that was only with people in the back. probably only due to spring flex and weight.
I reckon a set of 265s would have been right, but I'd hate to pay for 265X14 these days

did you have a VF hardtop? I doult it probly a VH onwards, they can accomadate fats, but the VF & Gs have a very low wheel arch and flat rear 1/4, they are quite limited

mine was a VG

exactly the same body as the VF, as far as I'm aware.

I also had VC and VE sedans that took 14X7s and 245 tyres with no issues

NO WAY in hell will 275s & 14x8s fit under a VG or VF coupe or sedan with out mini tubbs or cutting out the gaurds

the only way to fit a tyre that size on to one of those Vals is to move the springs inboard, its not a hard mod to do & I reckon they all need it done, perhaps someone had done it to your coupe?
for comfirmation join www.bigblockdart.com & ask those guys
