$1,200!

That sounds way too expensive for extractors.

This is a better price I've found: New VE-CM V8 Genie brand extractors 2 piece for easier fittment $550 (Tri-Y)

You've done all the right things so far though.

what car is this in?

most of the vals were heavy slugs after about 1972 or so. so you need the gears for them, but the earlier ones were about 300-400kg lighter, from memory.

with what you've got for now, I'd just kit the fuel pump and go with the extracters that Hemi-metal said.
but the extracters are next to useless without a decent exhaust system. unless it's done, get yourself a decent system. I'd recommend 2-1/4" twin system with a balance pipe.

you won't need the MSD for a bit yet, but I'd make sure you have a decent coil and leads.

stall converter isn't really required until you upgrade the cam. the weiand manifold may need a bit more stall if it's single plane.

get the intake and exhaust sorted before you open things up, and you'll be happy---for a while....it's addictive
