Cool Best options for LSD Conversion?

Hey Everyone
I have a 360 powered VH Coupe which is still running the stock non lsd diff, something I want a change in the next few months. What I would like to pick your brains about is what is my best option to convert the car to Lsd both in terms of cost and reliability? Another thing to consider is that the car has 265/55/15's on the rear and with the stock diff these just touch on one side, I'm told it has a factory offset diff but honestly I'm no mechanic.
I've been told my options are
-getting a Ford 9inch installed and cut to size.
-getting an Lsd centre for my diff and getting it cut to size.
-Or my old car(stupidly sold when valiants were worth nothing) a VH Charger had 265 rears with a Dana 60 Diff? Is getting one of those an option?

I'm thinking 3.55 or factory 3.45 Ratios and is being built as more of a cruiser then a drag/burnout car so won't get that hard a life.

Thanks in Advance for your Advice!

Scott

Getting a ford 9 inch would be ya best bet mate, strong for if you wanna do burnouts/drag it and very reliable at the same time.
honestly if its just a cruiser i wouldnt go for the 3.45 or 3.55 ratio, probably a 3.08 id say would be the best for a cruiser but its upto you.

i dont know about adelaide but i know over here in Perth we can get recod 9 inch's drum to drum for about $500, even cheaper if ya know where to look, or if ya know sum ppl in the know.

hope i helped mate, good luck. cheers Davo.

A Dana 60 would be best but they are thin on the ground these days and hard to find. I have heard the newer Ford F Series 4X4 trucks are fitted with them though.

Have you considered the other option of an ARB diff locker?

They are pnuematicly operated by a button on the dash and are mostly used in 4X4s and are great for a street strip car.

or alternatively you could get an EA EB Falcon borgwarner diff and get it made up to suit. you get the same stud pattern and disc brakes which no valiant ever had unfortunately

Hmmm thanks for the advice guys!
Davo 351-the 9inch is a good one but not cheap here in adelaide atleast, round 3k for a rebuilt one. The reason I thought 3.55 gears is my mates monaro is getting 3.55s and although mine is a cruiser I still want some get up and go when I sink in the boot and to keep up with his monza.
Hemi metal-yeah I haven't seen a Dana around for awhile but will keep my eyes open, haven't heard of an ARB diff locker, I can see I'm going to have to do a little research before I make a decision.
CK318-I never thought of a newer falcon diff, will have to look into cost and so forth with them, and the disc brakes would be very nice indeed!

i personally wouldnt touch a borgwarner, had bad experiences with 2 of them in my xe. they dont like burnouts in heavy cars. also depends on manual or auto, auto would be fine not as much strain.
