Default Fastest car in world Dodge powered!

Hey have you mob heard the news about the new Bristol Fighter T?

It has just overtaken the Bugatti Veyron as the worlds fastest car at 270MPH (434KPH!).

It features an 8.0l V10 Dodge Viper engine retuned and fitted with twin turbo chargers to produce 1,012BHP and over 1,000lb.ft of torque.

Each one is built by hand and costs more than 2 Lambourghinis.

Bristol is about the last real English owned and run sports car manufacturer besides Morgan and TVR.

All Bristol cars have been Mopar powered since the late fifties and shows what Mopar enhgines are capable of.

A fantastic acheivement by Bristol to take on the 8.3l quad turbo W16 Audi engine.

The styling is an aquired taste but much more functional than a Veyron(it has boot space).

0 to 100 in 3.5 seconds.

I want one!

yes it is a bit ugly, but i would still go for it over the Veyron.
#1 its powered by a mopar
#2 its cheaper than the Veyron, it being 850 000 pounds [$1.2 million AUD] and 2 lambo's being 280 000 pounds [$400 000 AUD](140 000 each).and
#3 i still think it looks better than the Veyron aswell.

and i thought that TVR were a Russian company that make cars for the British market

Maybe. I can see what you mean but it's a bit too swoopy in some places and not enough in others and the rear hatch/window is too elongated.

But who cares what it looks like when it goes that bloody fast

it looks sort of like an E-type jag, to me.

not bad at all, but I'm not sure if luggage space is a priority for the buyers of these things

well according to what ferret found it is 30mph slower that eth Veyron and about half as much power, but hey who cares a couple of turbos wil fix that.
or is teh one that Hemi Metal found takes teh land speed record private owned or was it factory.
i also thought tahte Viper V10 was an 8.3L engine

The specs there ar for the 2 regular Fighters (if you could call them regular) and each one is built to order anyhow.

The new Fighter T is a production model and not a special, it has been tested but the first model is yet to be delivered to the first buyer. Each model is hand built, they start each panel by beating it over wooden jigs and weld the chassis by hand, so to a degree no two cars are alike. They only build about twenty cars a year.

They were originally going to call it a Beaufighter after the WW2 planes they built. Car production did not start til after the war.

The link to the new car is here.

BTW CK_318: TVR have been in Blackpool since 1947.

The name of the bloke who built them was Trevor Wilkinson so he shortened it to TVR.

Would you buy a car called a Trevor?

yeah alrighty then. i would still prefer it over teh Veyron or the McLaren, both would be a major pain in teh arse to park, the Fighter T doesn't look any wider than a VB commonwhore
