Default Holley Mechanical fuel pump

Would one of these handle a 500hp engine intended for street use and the occasional squirt down the strip??

No, I've moved the electric pump closer to the outlet of the tank so it doesn't have to work as hard. If I have trouble with it any more I'm pissing it off for a mechanical

saw a neat mounting on a Q the other day at Fat Pipes, difficult to explain though... the cylinder part of the body was mounted through the boot floor where the drain bung is at the rear of the boot floor, hope that makes sense. had a bracket welded in place on the underbody to bolt the pump to, just looked fairly neat and was very close to the pump outlet (had a rear cutaway with fittings in it) also had a 502 up front YEE HAR!!

I think I know what you mean. The pump need to be as close to the outlet as possible and my outlet is at the rear of the tank. The only place I can put the pump is between the side of the tank and the chassis rails. Barry Grant said the max distance away from outlet is 12 to 18 inches

I know. My engine builder talked me into an electric. I had an electric on the Camaro until it crapped itself leaving me stranded, so I got a mechanical and all was good.
I'm still thinking of selling the pump???
