Default Pacemakers Clearance Issues

Hey guys, still in the process of dropping a 454 into the WB, question is has anyone had the same issue of the pacey's hitting on everything? there the 2" primary 4-1??

Got a temporary hoist and the headers are on (loosely) but i can't seem to jam the motor back onto the mount holes...

any help cheers Tim.

i had probs with my pace makers (they were old like circa early 90's) hitting my engine mount on 350 in HQ, some one decided rather then fix it they just heated and bashed the pipes until they cleared... when i bought the car i had the pipes cut and re welded to clear....

OLD:

After i had them re-welded and HPC coated

Wow those paceys look hot.

Mine were a bastard to fit on my SBC. Took me AGES and ended up scratching alot of the blue paint off

To say theyre a 'tight' fit would be one way of describing it.

So by the sounds of it your pipes are in and trying to get the motor in. Do you have your engine mounts on the correct sides? I put mine on wrong and wasted half an hour unbolting it all and swapping them over! No way in hell would it fit haha.

Okay forgive the fantastic photography, it's about as good as it gets..

By the looks there just braces, and of all the pics of found looks to be only the WB's had em.... Might take Russ's approach, oxy, mig, hammer

Probably the best of the 3, old shot, only clear engine bay one i have

From the front drivers side, I've taken the front bolt off each side and everything sits nice

from the side passenger facing forward

Let ya's know how the destruction go tomorrow arvo....

if it's just those bolt on ties, I'd rip them straight out.

are you planning on adding any other bracing, Tim?

Planning?? not a lot of that going on... but i did consider fabbing something up when alls put together ... question is strengthening what to where?

If there not overly critical I'll rip em out and keep trying not to stuff too much else up..
