I've just come across a good looking manifold for my 350, I'd need to buy some webber carbies, but know nothing about them, anyone get me up to speed on them? And would this manifold/setup be compatable for a stock 350 with a twin system?

4 48ida's will set you back about $3000 if purchased new.
whilst the induction noise would be sweet as that arrangement would be a bitch to A: tune and B: keep intune... i reckon do it, the cost and tuning hassles are far outweighed by the pure horniness of quads on a cross over manifold. |

Webbers are the most simple carb you will ever find, there great.
For that manifold you would need side draught carbs obviosly (DCOE). A good second hand 45 DCOE goes for around $600ish But you would want the smallest one I think there a 40? And you'll need 4 of em plus the linkages and the right size jets, chokes, imusion tubes and air correctors. This all ads up and pretty quickly too. Probably WAY to much for a stock 350 considering webbers are best for producing alot of top end hp. You would need a fairly large flowing fuel pump and a regulator to keep the fuel presure to around 4 psi or else the valve and seat tend to leak. Probably not a great option for a stock 350 but it will look freakin awsome and sound better than you could ever imagine ![]() ![]() Nice looking manifold by the way |

I've never heard the sound webbers make? Is it similar to a throttle body? So 4 40 DCOE, linkages, Would the webbers already come with their jets? A bigger fuel pump and reg, and a tune.
How much are webbers normally worth new? Also, what do you mean webbers are a simple carby? What advantages do they have? |

You could work out what imultion tubes, chokes ect you will need and if you buy the carbs new they should be able to supply with the gear you specify. Then you will need to get it fine tuned which will involve changing the jet sizes, air correctors and setting the idle screws and stuff. With that setup you will get alot of induction noise sorta a throaty sound ![]() I have heard them compared to a pissed off frog before ![]() |
