Talking elec or mech fuel pump?

gday guys, im new to this site, an have my 1st question!!'headbang'
ive just bought a new motor for my 45series cruiser. mild 010 350, 350hp, my problem is whether to run a hi-vol mechanical fuel pump or an electric job. ive always run mechanical apart from my hq. ive got hold of a holley red with reg and gauge from a mate in town.
is there a great diffrence between reds an blues??
any help and advice will be greatly appreciated. cheers guys!

OH!! yes it does (or will do...) its fair share of mud/water/offroad work

Hi mate, there are plenty of kickarse mechanical pumps for a small block and most of them will out flow a holley. If I could find a decent one for a holden I'd get rid of my holley blue. Maybe on a monster motor the electric would be better but for a driver I'd check out the mech. pumps...

I'm with Greenhj here. If I could get a good methanol Mechanical,I'd have one on my Tunna. My Monaro has a hiflow mechanical and that feeds two 750 vac secs on the 6/71 with no problems! Personally,I'd go mechanical...

mate go and buy a standard mech fuel pump and put it on, your putting it on a landcruiser so your only after reliability not performance. i would not have seen a v8 cruiser with sbc that has ever needed a electric pump. and i've seen a few v8 landcruisers.if your going to use the thing as a power truck at the summernats with a 6/71 blower and twin 750vac sec carbi's then take the advice from redbeard.
for consistance and reliability use the standard mech and give the electric back to your mate.
