Default can this harm

i have a chevy 383 and a new crane cam and kifter pack
engine has a double roe timing chain and bottom crank cog has only one keyway.
i've set my cam on just the standard setting that is advised by work shop manual,
i would like to know if this is going to do any damage, i was supposed to take it to my mechanic but he lives 250kms away and i would rather drive just the once for him to do his adjustnents

you should be safe at the standard settings. Dialing in the cam will optimize the cams full range. If there is only one slot for the lower gear to go in then there is not much adjustment you can do anyway!
