Would check out the legalities of cutting into the rear wall. An alternative is using Pioneers slimline 12 inch sub which is around 8cm deep. I'm not sure how much room is behind the seats in a HQ though so you'd have to find the size of the box and take some measurements. As for the front stage, being a ute, you only need to install a set a splits to get some nice sound happening. I'd recommend the jaycar kevlar splits, reasonably priced and produce a decent sound.
