Default s1 VN V6 coil pack problems

has anyone ever had problems with their coil packs and had to replace them. well i just replaced mine about 2 weeks ago with a Series 2 vn type coil pack and to my understanding this should mean that it should not start at all, but mine does, why is this. or does it have to do with the fact that i replaced the entire coil pack coils and the plug in base thing aswell, any ideas?

S1 coil packs (the old block of chocolate one) were nuggets and should have been bin'ed strait up, the round ones from s2 and later and a strait swap as far as im aware

They are just a straight swap as long as you swap the whole thing like you said. The series 2 vn all had the vp coil packs out of the factory due to the early ones having so many problems.
