Default Whats a carbon canister?

Hey just a couple of questions, Whats a carbon canister? what does it do? and is their a benefit of removing it?

It traps or draws the fuel vapours from the fuel tank and then sent through the engine when its running, otherwise your car will stink of fuel. Besides, its illegal to remove it, needs to stay on for emission laws if you're vehicle came out with it. A lot of people just hide them under the front guard.

ah k. so then my mate is full of s*** then hhaha i'll have to tell him that...he told me that id get some performance out of it if i removed...what a tool

LOL, yeah lots of people think that because they are pollution gear that they cost power, but those people don't know what a carbon canister does usually
