or maybe because petrol prices keep going up n up n up? But in all seriousness the new motor would use less petrol than a clagged out tired motor by far

My initial thought would be to check for fuel leaks. Check the tank, the fuel lines, filter and around the injector rails. If (at road speeds) the pressure build up is forcing fuel out somewhere inside your engine bay you could be driving a timebomb.
Second though would be to get your entire intake/exhaust system checked. Any blockage could result in your PCM trying to do things it isn't supposed to do (like pour fuel in to correct a lean AFR). Also, check your O2 sensor/s while your at it. Failing that, I'd think you need to get your tune looked at. You say the car was tuned, but how good was the guy that did it? Not too good I suspect if he didn't notice that your V6 is using 4 times as much fuel as a normal one.

Thanks guys. at the moment i got just on 50kms on just over quarter of a tank. but my uncle has it at the moment and is giving it a thorough check. thank you all so much.
But i have to say once its fixed im getting rid of it n going back to a trusty classic ![]() thanks again |
