coz you put the foot down more?

or maybe because petrol prices keep going up n up n up?

But in all seriousness the new motor would use less petrol than a clagged out tired motor by far

without posting fuel figures or something no one is going to be able to help you, unless there is something noteable in the way it drives, ie like shit or fuel smoke

check the cat converter, exhaust, O2 sensor, injectors, leads, plugs, air filter, vacume lines. mate theres tons of things that could be causing it,

It could even be a fuel leak somewhere, from when you changed the motor,

My initial thought would be to check for fuel leaks. Check the tank, the fuel lines, filter and around the injector rails. If (at road speeds) the pressure build up is forcing fuel out somewhere inside your engine bay you could be driving a timebomb.

Second though would be to get your entire intake/exhaust system checked. Any blockage could result in your PCM trying to do things it isn't supposed to do (like pour fuel in to correct a lean AFR). Also, check your O2 sensor/s while your at it.

Failing that, I'd think you need to get your tune looked at. You say the car was tuned, but how good was the guy that did it? Not too good I suspect if he didn't notice that your V6 is using 4 times as much fuel as a normal one.
