Default VS Acclaim problems - fuel pump

Hey all how r ya? OK i got a VS Acclaim 1995 model (stock), and everytime i turn right, the fuel pump noise goes off? wats happening here? does anybody know how to fix it?

Also my airbag on the passenger's side has started warping from the sun and if i pull it hard enough ill rip the plastic off, does anybody know how much this will cost to fix and where to get it done? im in melbourne western suburbs.

And some thing is wrong with the ignition, wen i put the key in the hole, i turn to start it, and i wont do nothing like the starter motor is screwed, but then i take it out lock the doors and unlock then start and its fine. does anyone know wats going on there?

fuel pump could be on its way out.. budget a couple of hundred bucks for a new one..
airbag problem is common.. not sure who can fix them but i'd say it holden could do it at a price - just dont pull on it
as for your ignition, your key has a little silverish ball thing on it that contacts with a metal strip that goes around the outside of your ignition barrel.. try both the key and the strip a wipe down with some metho as it may be a little dirty and the contact might be crappy..
There is also a common fault in the auto in that occasionally it will think the car is in gear when in fact it isnt, resulting in cutting power to the ignition..
All little niggly things that arent hard to fix - just annoying as hell.

yeah.. i think its a faulty sensor in the selector (dont quote me on that).. My mum's VS acclaim wagon had the same problem, as did my old VP exec..
Easy way to tell if thats the issue is if it doesnt start, turn off ignition and run the selector up and down the gears a couple of times.. if it then starts theres your drama..
try cleaning the metal ring around teh ignition barrel as well..

mum's car had the same dramas... check/change your power steering fluid.. it can also mean that your power steering pump is buggered
