Default Shift Kits

hey all,

Im looking for a shift kit for my car. Im looking for something that lets me manually hold 1st, 2nd, 3rd gear to any RPM and will also backshift to any gear I select, and when i select 'D' it just shifts automaticly. What stage would this be ie: stage 1, stage 2, stage 3.

Also what is a better brand to go with B&M or TRANSGO, and what sort of prices would i be looking at.

Thanks for any help.

Cheers

Most kits will manualise 1st gear at stage 2. You shouldn't need any more than that, you can downshift into 2nd at over 100 and you can hold 2nd for ages too. I wouldn't go past stage 2 for a street car.

Not all stage 2s have the manualisede 1st, it is a separate mod from the mods to make the shift firmer but the parts are included if you buy a kit to fit yourself otherwise you will have to ask your trans guy to do this for you. I have made my own shift kit for my T400 and I modded 1st myself also. Mine will hold first as long as you want and it will also shift down to first at any speed.

yes.. manually shifting in my vp loosened up the auto quite a bit.. anything to make it stronger is a good thing
