Default Supercharging

What kind of prices would i be looking at for superchargers for my Merc, i know this is aussie6's section, but hey can't blame a man for trying. Just curious, would it be a big job seeing as it would be custom? Would it require stronger internals? As they don't really run as high as most turbo cars psi wise.
What places around the SE Suburbs would deal with kind of stuff, as i wouldn't mind asking around, keeping an open mind for ideas in the future.
V8's are always a good idea, but i wouldn't mind a super 6 either

Wouldn't you be better asking on a Merc or Euro car forum?

no coz there ain't many Victorian residents in the ones im on. And besides, most of the ones that are all own new Mercs, that wouldn't have any idea, Supercharging is a popular thing for V8 cars, why not ask on a V8 lovers forum? All i would need is probly custom piping and all, so it ain't really specialised for people who know about Mercs

streek best bet is to ring up a supercharger company.... vortech comes to mind, tell em what you've got and what you want and they can take it from there. Prices in getting your motor blown varies so much from different motors to different requirements, its like the old saying 'How long is a piece of string'

Let us know how ya go mate, I'd love to see that merc of yours with a blower!

what are you trying to do with it, streek?

for a little six, one of those SC14 chargers will give you a fair boost. it won't be a fire breathing dragon, but you could get away without touching any internals, depending on the condition of your engine now

not knowing a bloody thing about your car is a bit hard.
i assume it's 2.8 litre. what's the redline?

I'd give capa a call seeings as that's what they deal in. Then give a workshop a call about getting the piping etc all done.

I don't want to get like a shitload of power, just enough to have fun, and thats why the supercharger came in mind.
yeah its a 2.8 litre, she redlines at 6500rpm

i reckon the sc14 is what you need.

i've got a file saved somewhere with some info on them. i'll have a look and get back to you.

they have an issue with delaminating the rotors over a certain speed, but i reckon you could push 5-6 psi out of one no problems aslong as you keep the rotor speed down
