Hey guys,
Im looking at supercharging my VR. I wondering what whould be the best way of supercharing it. I could by a supercharger kit and strap it straight to the buick 6 either: - Eaton supercharger (Would it end up sticking out of the bonnet?)Or - By a second hand Super6 (L67?) out of a written off car and put that into the VRWhat is going to be the best way about going round this, if i go with the supercharger kit i think then i need to strengthen internal componets, but if i go with the 2nd had super6 ive got a supercharged engine plus strong internals. Also F.I.T has a lot of goodies for the super6 Also i like the eaton type blowers, but im sure if you strap one to a buick engine they will stick out the bonnet (not really wat i want). So any help on which way you think is best would be great. Cheers Hotwired (hope ive worded it right)

hey mate. your best option is to fit the whole supercharged motor so you can upgrade again later without having to pull the motor down. bear in mind if you do fit it that you will need to have the supercharged ecu linked up to your bcm, the sc motor will need ecotec extractors but will otherwise bolt up. only other issue you may have is the vr gearbox if auto plugs in to your ecu differenty to the vs/vt boxes. theres some food for thought anyways.

i'd go the motor, lot less f'n round i think... would be alot stronger than non s/c motor and everything is there that you need, and doubt a half cut would be very expensive

Yer definately go the super6 171 fwkw from the factory with heaps of mods to extract plenty more power.
Ive been in a few and they pull pretty hard off the line. In stock form when I had my gen3 they wernt far off the mark up to 80 clicks. Cheers
