a mate of mine up here has a 1 & 1/2 JZ,

2j bottom 1 j top, or maybe the other way around. . .

but it flies. it pulls 3rd gear broadies on the highway no worries. expensive conversion

I know it can be done and is easier and more reliable and cheaper to get power from than both rb25 and holden 6 its just the conversion thats costly it involves a modifing engine and trans mounts and lots of other tedious and expensive issues

I had a 89model soarer, put in a 1-Jz twin turbo in and it hauled but that is toymota to toyota. But i have heard of a 1j/2jz powered monaro/kingswood? that put out some decent hp

They are good engines but i would check out the price of rebuilding one if something went wrong.

Mate have you thought bout droping a 2jz-gte or a 1jz-gte in a Cressida?Toyo to Toyo, big balls and relatively straight forward swap..even drop a 1ufze Quad Cam Lexus V8 in one, thatd be a nice conversion, theres an absolute sleeper getting around in SA with a 2jz-gte, apparently runs 10's. I saw it pull 403rwkw at a recent dyno comp. go to youtube and look for Jays Cressida or Cressida 2j, summernats burnout, ul see wat i mean...

haha, jays cressida is quick.. but just dropped the motor all over the track the other w.e

2JZ is the best stock form 6 cyl motor ever.. TroyVK on calaisturbo.com.au just put on in his VL Calais. Age old myth, 1JZ head on 2JZ bottom end.. 1JZ head actually flows less, and apparently at slower air speed!

About 4 years ago I too heard about a Kingswood with a 1jz-gte in it.
It does exist.
