when i flat it in my car, its very slugish and then comes on with power on mid range then fades like there is a flat spot at high range rpm. the car only has power in mid range and has nothing at all in low and high range power. flat in first and shift into secong is ok cos the revs are in the mid range but there on its making more nosie than movement.
this has only happen since i got my car back from a mechanics (not mentioning names). when i got my car back from the mechanics fitting a chip and tune, the car drove for about 20mins then it died. i then rang racq and they told me it was a flat batt. so they charged it (watching them carefully if they touch nething they shouldnt of have) and it drove again. before i could make it home it died again. so i called racq asking whats up? they then told me i needed a new batt. so there i was calling battery world for a new batt. they fitted it (kept my eye on him). so then i drove it and then it died again. called racq and they told me i needed a new alternator. got a alternator guy to fit one (yes watched him) and there i was again, driving and it died. so i called the alternator guy saying i got a new batt, new alternator, wtf going on? he came back and sussed out my car. he soon later found that the wires in the plug for the alternator was switched around. he then change them back and i had no problems with it ever. so therefore it must of been the mechanics who did it to my car. i rang em and ask wtf they touch it for they they replied "why u wanna touch that when all we did was fitted a chip and tune?" i was pissed and hung up. why would racq, batt boy and alternator guy touch it? i watched them every step they did. now... would this **** my chip n tune? it felt much better b4 they tuned it. like seriously much much better. i never going to that place again. |

Mate PM me with some details. I know of only 2 other places that do chips apart from Chiptorque in this town adn I don't rate either of them. I know a very good auto electrician to sort out problems with the electrical side of things, he owns the twin turbo VR ute and he's clued up on basically anything to do with car's.

yeah. been lookign at soo many options with my vn now. found out yesterday i can get a brand spanking new motor from this mech. come with everything else from alt, water pump, h/balancer, p/steer, coils etc. may be starting again with a fresh new motor. looked into the crs kit with the smaller pulley but its too cheap. might as well go powerdyne. ill try to get this vn running properly again, if it doesnt work i will rebuild it next yr.

Don't worry abotu teh CRS, go the powerdyne or even better, the vortech. I would look at putting ACL pistons in at least if you can't afford the forgies because they are a bit better then stockers. And I'd be intercooling up here thats for sure.

Sweet as, maybe shotpeen the rods too while they are out. If you get forgies, get a vortech T trim or something decent that shuold see you up around the 300rwkw mark. Powerdyne blowers don't run decent boost to take advantaeg of a decent built motor. Just need to get injectors and look at a decent gearbox then.

Looks OK. But if you are looking at forced induction I would say the compression would be too high. But I think you would be able to tell them to lower the compression and use forged pistons before they build it and it would be sweet. Then you have to buy the blower kit which is around 7 grand and get it fitted and tuned.
