Default please help, vn v6 accelerator problem

gday guys
im looking at buying a new car.. ill tell you about it after i tell you the problem it has.

when you put your foot flat in it, it doesnt rev out as far as it can (its an auto).
like it revs, but it has an easy 1500-2000rpm left to rev.
my stock vn v6 red lines all the time but this car, it doesnt even come close.

im going to have another look at it today, its a mates so i have time to sus it out. im going to twist the accelerator throttle thing under the bonnet (i mean the thing your accelerator cable is connected to.)
i figure if that revs it hard, it must be somewhere between the accelerator pedal and the engine.

if it doesnt rev hard the computer might need remapping or a dyno tune?

also when i put my foot down in my car, there is about a 1cm space between the pedal and the floor, and if i put it down the whole way it drops a gear. im pretty sure this other vn doesnt feel like that, it just goes to the floor.

both cars are vn v6 autos.

is there anything else i can try to see what it might be. i might also go to a mechanic and see if they can have a quick look at it for me.

any help is appreciated.

cheers.

A mate of mine brought a VQ stato which had the same problem, all it turned out to be was the accelerater linkage. have a look at that.

Yea it sounds like a linkage issue.
get your RACV or whatever they are up there to have a look at the car, for $100 they'll go right through it into spots you wouldn't be able to get to

could be ur kickdown cable? dunno if thats the right name for it but it changes down a gear when u footplant it and prevents it changing up before u redline

other than that check ur acc cable might be stretched
