Default VS Ecotec Crank Shaft?

Can someone please tell me, the difference with the back of the crankshaft between some of the VS V6 engines, i have just dropped my car off to get the engine replaced to be told that there is a 98% chance that i'm going to struggle for the right engine, that the getrag gear box engines had 6 bolt, and the rest of them are 8 bolt or something.
to me, this means nothing.. hence why i am so vague etc.

could someone please tell me how correct this is, or is this bloke dodgy as hell.

not really sure with those animals. i know there were some differences in the VN line like that.

even if it's different, a new flywheel would sort you out
