Default efi black in tonner

Hello all. I've bought myself a hx tonner that i want to tidy up with bits i have laying around. Was going to bolt the top end of a efi black onto the 202 red block. Will the red cam do the job or should I change it? If i have to change and put something lumpier will the efi have a fit? Ive heard this efi can be hard to work with so am i better off just keeping it stock. Just want a cheap reliable get around. Already have one money pit

The injection is not at all hard to work with, quite the opposite as no computer involved (its not quite as refined but still a good bit of kit in my opinion). The cam in the EFI motor is different, the one from the red motor will work but it won't go as hard. As long as you don't go silly with a cam I don't think the EFI will have too much of a problem. With no computer there is a limit to what you can change but for a reliable daily driver it will be just right for the job. If you have a workshop manual for the EFI it has all the settings to test the sensors etc (most you can do with just a multimeter), might pay to check this stuff before diving in and finding out something doesn't work. Then go for it.
