Default V8 Throttle Body on a V6?

Hey guys i have a VR V6 and a mate has a VS V8 throttle body that he wants to sell. He reckons it will give quicker response and better fuel efficency if i put it on. Any one heard the same thing? Is this true?

don't be fooled by ONLY 5mm bigger in diameter.

memory fails me as to the actual size of throttle bodies for these, but the difference between 60mm and 65mm TBs is 17.36% area

i thought it was 65 and 68mm, which makes over 9% area increase.

economy doesn't come into it. you need fuel to make power

There 60mm for V6 and 65mm for V8 standard

Be careful with doing this. If it is a auto, you will run into dramas with your shift points changing, due to the extra air. And you will need to get it tuned. If it is manual, then you shouldnt have any problems.

VN/VP autos are fine. They use the T700 which is cable controlled, while the VR/VS use the 4L60e which is electronicly controlled.
