Default 9 port head numbers?

hi guys i've got a few heads off some red 6s whats the deal with the numbers on the side of them? one says "3 D4" then "12 L" or "2 L" and the other says "Q or G 79" then "3 A" and another 1 with "E1 72" do the numbers mean anything or just casting numbers? anyone know what models they came off? what should i put on my 186? thanks in advance

As Allports has said the part numbers would be better but the numbers you supplied mean
3D4 = 3rd April 74 so HQ or LH era
L is low compression
G79 = 7th july 69 HT era
3 A may actually be 3 H and H means High compression
E172 = 17th May 72 HQ or LJ era
If you still have any of the heads I would be interested in what part numbers went with what date codes.
Cheers Paul.
