Raptor Superchargers

Go from there ! They will be priced competitively against the others i will imagine.

Go find an Eaton M62 or M90 and have more fun...Roots superchargers are far more fun than centrifical.

Centrifical supercharging is a waste of money in my opinion. Its a gap filling product. between a Lysholm/roots compressor. and turbocharging. And its about mechanical effort and friction and heat. or the byproducts of combustion. none of which are efficient. But a centrifical blower although has a more efficient compressor, cant match the turbo and the traditional blown engine has already gone....and they all cost the same relatively.

And what they dont tell me in their marketing is more of a worry than what they do. (pressure ratios/ compressor efficiency / rpm bla bla) .....

i rang raptor today and they havent even made a kit for a red motor yet, he said its months off... looking at a price around the 3700 mark which i think is far to much, as its only a blower and brackets. i said to him i could make my own brackets and he said to me if there good make 2 sets and they would buy one off me saving them developing one for the kits and they would use my design.

my mate has a raptor on a VS V6 and f*** me it goes hard, stock engine with extractors and the raptor and pulled 260rwhp and has done a mid 13 qtr with a leaking exhaust and a manual gearbox. roots blower will give more of an instant torque hit than a centrifugal blower, but they wont make as much boost and are nowhere near as efficient.

Screw blowers are around the same efficiency as a centrifugal blower but create more heat. Procharger are the leaders in centrifugal blowers and have powered 31 champions in US drag racing in the last 5 years - so comments that the traditional blown cars are already gone is rubbish. A roots or screw blower powered car will leave the line quicker but the centrifugal blower will have it in top end, just like a turbo powered car.

$3700 is cheap for a blower and kit!!! dont forget you are paying for the unit itself which will be most of that cost and then also the brackets which is labour and material costs. I have been quoted $5150 for a Procharger P1SC kit for a chev - modified to suit my engine. And try ringing other places and getting a cheaper price than $3700

your abit out of date rowan... he is making JUST shy of 300rwhp, and has ran a best of 13.2, missing 3rd gear al together lol. and all this from a stock ecotec V6 with 6Spd manual, 3.9 LSD, exhaust and extractors... oh, and of course the raptor charger and front mount cooler.

but yea, raoan is right. the raptor chargers are very good bang for your buck value. i no a few people that are using them now. all but one are on V6s, but the 'but one' is on a VS V8 ute, and he made just over 360rwhp on a stock motor. ive been talking to tim (the guy who runs raptor) and im thinking about running one on my SS

oh, and as for the holden 202ci, there was a torana at willowbank T&T a few weeks ago that had a 202ci with a MASSIVE hair dryer (turbo) running 22psi. it was carby fed, and dam it was quick... 11seconds flat from memory.

i know tim personaly (bloke who runs raptor superchargers) and he is one cluey bloke wen it comes to forced induction, typicaly yes a centrifugal supercharger is about as good as one of them hiclones, but the results that have come from the raptor unit speak for themselfs

The M90 bolted on from factory on my Berlina has a funny thing about leaving P-platers with bodykits idling at the lights

I freaken love it, stock std(no V8 killer mind you) and these young guns see a black commodore and decide to floor it off the lights.

I love beating bodykit hero's in a factory std vehicle
