Default Formula Holden specs? and misc questions.

i've been wondering what modification were/are actually done to the Formula Holden V6's. all i know is they use a series one style engine and produce upto 220KW. but i was wondering how they go about it?

also i am wondering how i would go about re-adjusting the handbrake on my VN? like most older commodores any really steep incline and the handbrake starts to slack off in doing its job.

i think thats it for now? and thank you for any information that i may receive.

i know i'm being a little impatient, but does anyone have any insight into at least how to adjust the handbrake?

once again does anybody know what was done to the VN series Formula Holden V6's. i've now found out that they used teh standard ECU and Intake manifold. but what else were they allowed to do.

i'm getting bored with teh current performance of my V6 and i can't get my hands on a 5 litre...oh and i can't really afford to get and rebuild one either

I found this ....Hope it helps...

I'll tell you what, in the delco the highest idle speed you can select is 1600 rpm, guess where it's set at in the formula Holden ?:P 1600 and they still dont hardly idle at that. They ran a huge came (you can buy it from wade). Ported heads, stock manifolds, stockish throttle bodys (maybe bored out and there's some with big ass twins out the top or something). Injectors from one of the early injected falcons and that's about it. Depending how how rich the team was they ran a stock bottom end or a stronger one :P but either way they broke alot/often at 7000rpm+. Really it was asking a bit much of the old V6 to spin that hard with that much.

stock block
stock intake
stock tb
stock coilpack
stock ecu with crap restricted tune(not allowed to change, can swap ecus with another team at any time to keep it fair), motor was also built to this tune, not tune to the motor
huuuuge cam
1.8 roller rockers
heads ported to the max, big as possible valves
massive long extractors
forged rods and pistons

From the paper on the early development version (285hp@6500rpm, 340Nm/250ftlb@5000rpm):

10:1 via pistons
Inlet valves: 43.4mm => 44.7mm.
Standard inlet manifold and throttle body, the manifold only ported to match the (ported) heads.

Heads: + 66% flow on inlet ports.

Cam:
Inlet: open @ 44BTDC, close @ 76 ABDC, 13.7mm lift
Exhaust: open @ 76 BBDC, close @ 44 ATDC, 13.7mm lift
Figures @ 0.5mm lift. It's unclear whether the lift figure is at the valve or cam.
Solid cam followers, non-roller type to avoid uncovering the oil galleries for the standard roller type. I recall another mag. article somewhere where it said the block had to be machined to allow the cam to fit through the bearing holes (also = larger cam bearings).
Leaded Falcon 6 injectors @ standard fuel pressure.

Exhaust: 510mm primaries and secondaries ~ 600mm, kept separate.

Stuff to help it live:
Uprated (Carillo) con rods.
Balance shaft deleted and flywheel and balancer altered to suit that and the heavier pistons and 'rods.
Standard crank.

thats awesome thank you so much. i have the cam already. so i need to port the heads and manifold a little bit. maybe switch to solid rockers and lifters instead of Hydraulic with this cam then? if not i know where i can get some high ratio yella terra rockers from.

thanx muchly again. its nice to knwo what they had done to it. so as i may consider rebuilding another engine to similiar streetable-ish specs
