Default HELP! Stickey Throttle

my throttle is randomly sticking, last night i drove to a mates place, went to reverse out of his driveway, and without touching the throttle, the bitch jumps upto 3000rpm..... i didnt think this was physically possible, because its got a throttle cable.. (unlike all the new electric cars, ie ba falcon) or i will give it a tiny rev, upto 2-3k and it will stick at that for 7 or so seconds, and than sloooooowly drop back
i went for a drive up my street yesterday morning, trying to get my clutch to fault, i get into second, take my foot off, expecting for the car to start to slow. and it keeps driving?
since this started happening, there has been a sound at one posisition of the throttle, like air is getting in..

the other day... tuesday, we had 42 degree heat in the sun, i was doing a fair bit of driving, i got a key programmed at my local holden dealer and i hopped in the car and it made a heap of thumping noices coming from the back of the motor towards the gearbox, turn it off, turn it on... still would go away, so i went and got a mechanic, he had no idea, so put the car on the lift, got two more mechanics and they came to the conclusion that my flywheel had come away from my clutch or something, something about a two peice clutch??
so they send me on my way, i call into my normal mechanic and turn the car off... get my mechanic out to look at it, turn the car on and it wont thump... just wouldnt do it anymore.
so he sends me on my way, and it wouldnt fault.. so i spent a fair bit of time yesterday trying to fault it... but wouldnt do it..
than my throttle decides to get stickey

and thats where i am now

how can i make it not stickey, and that noise, it cant be good?
i also noticed random extream lacks of power (cant even spin the wheels on the road)

im ready to sell the pos

i will go see if i can get a video of this noise.

jase.

i'd say take your T/B off and give it a clean and check the Throttle Position Switch, also check the nut on the throttle plate hasn't caused it to open slightly. and also check that you haven't got any air leaks between the air box and the plenum chamber.

^^ What he said.

Check for air leaks.

I don't really think your air intake's bolted too tightly...

spray some CRC around the throttle body while it is idling, if the revs increase there is a vac leak.
