Swinging sump baffle? - Aussie V8 | Holden - Ford

Hey all,

Pulled down a red 6 the other day out of an LC/J. When I removed the sump I found the factory fitted baffle had a swinging part to it in the middle. Never seen it before, was wondering if perhaps it was something special, or maybe just something late model?
