Default what 'box'?

hey guys getting a tough engine built at the moment.186 bored to 190.208 stroker crank,big solid cam,solid lifters,billet straight cut timing gears,romac harmonic balancer,forged pistons.stage 3 black 202 head.vk injection and later on down the track a small blower.im putting a 10bolt in the arse.currently ive got a toyota 5speed in it.would i be better off getting a supra box or seeing how far this box will get me. .

Exactly what 'box do you have now? Celica?

I would say the Supra box is the way to go until you get really serious with the blown combo.

id say keep the box u have till u blow it, then look at the supra box

dont knock aussie 4 speeds, mines handling about 400hp at the fly wheel just fine. serioulsy though whats wrong with the box you got on there now?

...agree

I ran a 350hp Holden 6 in an LJ torrie
(ran low 12s at Calder) with an Aussie (wide ratio) box
..blew clutches and diffs
and the odd engine

..never the box

nah its just an old corona box apparently.had a gearbox bloke look at it and said its pretty much identical to the celica one and will handle a bit.i do have a spare aussie4speed in the shed.maybe get it out and chuck it in?
i dont know what sorta power id be looking at yet.anyone take a guess?or have something similar?

the aussie four speed would be the way to go.You will just have to see how the diff gears go you may have to change them

mate i got an m20 box rebuilt with all mazda parts and the guy reconds itll hold a few horses... and ive also got a very tough 202 in my torana.
