budget? expected power?
4/71 blowers are able to fit 202's with a suitable adaptor, but getting a suitable and reliable setup is gonna cost upwards of 10k, once spending necessary amount on diff, gearbox.

depending on whats already fitted of course davo, what exactly are the plans martin and how did ur LX come to have a blue motor in it? a good mate of mine has an LX SS hatch (genuine), red 202 with a hadfield sidemount charger that pulls low 14s all day in street trim. hardly the quickest thing on the road but its pretty impressive for what it is. any kind of forced induction u will have to strengthen ur bottom end to stop it from blowing to pieces and bolting on a supercharger requires lowering ur comp too while ur at it, have u taken this into account?

Forget the 4/71 its too big unless you want to get massive boost
And the Jap chargers are ok ?????? sorta

202 cid engine @ 6000 rpm @ 8lbs = 432cfm with 80% engine Efficiency
4/71 blower = 284 cid
Blower speed = 2628rpm BAD!!! TOO SLOW POOR EFFICIENCY compressed air seeps past the rotors and escapes
best range is 6000-8000 with the roots supercharger 3/71 4/71 6/71 8/71 14/71

Eaton M90 = 8307 Rpm EXCELLENT
Best is 8000-10000

THIS IS A BASIC MEASUREMENT - but an accurate estimate, actual figures will be slightly higher than quoted

And don't listen to ****heads that say Back your timing off, then you can run more boost. On a supercharged holden 6 if you have to back the timing further than 28 - 30 degrees your running too much boost or poor fuel. DONT DO IT !

Whats the jzed head like for a streeter? Does the dollar damage greatly exceed an appropriately tickled factory iron head? (300 to 400 real ponies)

Greenhj its fairly big inside. But you wouldnt run it ported, that'd be way too big. My own one flowed 317.3 @28" which is 490hp. It would be ok for a blown deal. $ are not cheap at nearly 5k but what else can you buy?

Notes on a 4.71 blower.
The cubic inch per revolution is 268.7 not 284. 4.71 reffers to the GM engine they were issued on a 4cyl of 71 cube displacement.
To gain 8lbs boost (in theory) on a 202 cube engine the blower will have to be set up at 70% drive of crank speed that means .70 of crank. Which at 6000rpm will be turning the blower at 4200rpm. Not too bad. Which becomes (after you subtract the ratio for heat loss) 587.78cfm of air ingested into the engine, (again in theory)
Cube sizes of other blowers FYI: 6.71 (smallbore) 293; 6.71 (large bore) 411;
8.71 436.29; 10.71 486. All street type no teflon or nylatron tipped.
