Hey all,
Just a quick question on the V6, what modifactions can I do to enhance the power. I'm on a budget and need parts to be cheap.

Thanks heaps.

Ok yea, thanks but I'm not going to rebuild. Does any one reckon a cold air intake would be good with a K & N pod filter?

mate the bellmouth is the easiest if its a series 2 up engine, throw a 5ltr throttle on it and decent set of extractors and good free flowin exhaust, go factory cold air cost 50 bucks and use a kn panel filter and run premium fuel and it will be snappy as, go one better and throw some high ratio rockers on it too but not reccomended if you gunna cam it later on, just build it up with a cam they love a new cam, and like old mate said throw the balance shalf out they only there to take the harmonics out of the idle it will just idle ruff and shake alot thats bout it street commodore did heaps on these engines they have a v6 techincal book out there but yeah start with the bellmouth and all the bolt ons and it will go, you could always get a chip but are outta wack once you modify something else and off the shelf stuff is one size fits all and are on safe tunes most the time so no good in the long run , anyway good luck with it
cheers

if ur on a tight budget, the easiest and cheapest thing u can do is make the bugger breathe better, CAI, air filter, exhaust. thats the way to go with bugger all bucks.

Cold air intake, K&N panel filter, V8 throttle body

I did it to mine, the difference is incredible. Plus side (esspecially for a budget) is you don't have to get them all at once, you can do them one at a time.

the throttle off an injected 5ltr it's 5 mm bigger than the standard v6 one but makes all the difference

lol...

just like hg said, find a 5 litre commodore, and get the throttlebody off it, it's pretty easy to find - it's where your air intake enters the manifold, it's a little ring-looking thingy. now take it out and whack it on to your v6!
