Hey guys,

Just wondering which would be a better buy, the V6 VN or VP, ive heard that he VN V6 has a few problems so is it better to go with the VP

VP series 2 is the way to go as they had the best engine out of the lot of them and they look better as well in my opinion

i couldnt agree more go the series 2 much better design on the electrics you can nearly wet them with out a mayjor breakdown,,,,,,nearly,,,,,,

yep
vp series 2..
don't buy the vn series 1, they all seem to suffer the death rattle (timing chain)
vn series 2 got the vp update enging.

VP II definetly, apart from the mechanical issues with the VN abovementioned.... the VP looks alot better aswell

yep vp2 is better, the only thing it suffers from like the others is still the elc window controll the buttons for some reason wear out like crazy but thats minor to the problems of the other vn' and vp's.

far out funny you mention that gngtho as i always comment on how good mine work.Havnt been replaced from original.I think its a freak car lol as people ar always commenting on how good nick its in for its age

i'd pick the vp2 aswell , evil ss my cousin had the vps calais and he allwys had problems with the power window switches on the back doors

take the xr6 4 a test drive it should have the same power as the calais and i know the calais is luxury

evil ss you are damn lucky i have come across loads of people who their cars suffer from this prob, vp's in the front switches, and na fairlanes in the back left hand switches.
