[quote=VHSLX253;9396]Has anyone thought of building a commodore like this, would it achieve respectable times?

What are your thoughts on this car?

Regards.

VZ Commodore 6.0 188kw standared at rear wheels. spend bugger all and get 240kw at rear wheels drives smooth. (Have one)
If you only want power and dont care about what car this is to easy.
I am building an older car as well and just using the gear that was available at the time tring to keep it in period..Just like using a 253 in an older commodore.
Its what it had if you want to do something newer just go and buy the the car with the motor in it. Why put a foot in a glove a shoes much easier. I like puting better brakes and suspension music etc and if the parts are just to hard to get or you just like stupid badly made cars change to anther completely different motor.
I reckon a twin turbo 253 Holden V8 ,motec EFI. with its thick bores would go like stink with a shit load of boost.

the best bang for your buck would be a nitrous system no doubt at all. you could happly run a 100hp shot on a stock engine with little effect to the engine at all. my stock 202 with a 100hp shot made 138rwkw and ran 13.1@108mph

I built a 253 a few years ago and got 360 hp at the fly with a Holly 460 with vac seconds later converted to motec EFI and cracked 400hp without turbo.
