Question Super Charger

hi guy's, i'm thinking of putting a super charger in my 192 red motor. i was told to use a 4AG ZE super charger out of an MR2. it will probably cost me about $400.00 including plumbing. has anyone done this? is it a good idea? if not what would you do to increase power with about the same amount of money? i also have the option of buying a turbo from a skyline r33 for $100.00 but that seems a little hard to plumb!

so far my engine has larger valves, it's bored and has a lumpy waggot cam.

i looked into this a few years ago, and it seems pretty good.

it's not a huge increase, but it is a good, budget modification.

from memory, you can get about 5 or 6 pounds of boost, but you have to watch the blower speed. apparantly they laminate the rotor at 10,000rpm or so.

google sc14 blower and see what comes up. it's been done quite a few times

the sc14 isnt good to run all the time either, but still very comon. theres even places ie: CRS that sell kits to mount the sc14 to tha 6cyl

hi mate i had the sc14 set up on my lc torana a few years back, it was so easy to set up. i ran a 2'' su carby off a jag, you have to run an elec fuel pump as the bottom blower bracket covers the pump on the block. a two brl manifold, they dont like lots of comp, so if you have got heaps of head work flat top pistons it wont like it. i tried it but than i had to run a 080.thou copper head gasket to loose some comp and i had the head cc a bit than it went mint. had a m20 and 355 gears it made 140rwkw

Go son! Haad a mate that had his at 11psi on a 3.8 buick v6. Just get a REALLY small pully and try and keep the blower speed under like 14k rpm (designed limit). But even then thats only when your red-lining ya engine but whats the point in that with a blower ?
