I get down to the circuit racing here in Adelaide as often as I can; the owner/driver of Agent Orange, a B.A.D. (Blown Alcohol Displacement) class boat, was almost apologetic for having a mere 1350HP "but we catch 'em in the corners" he reckons. B.A.D. are 6ltr Unlimited Wallet racing at it's finest. These blokes are doing 100MPH when the start flag drops and the pace boat peels away - then it's ON; those with the extra balls punch up to 140 MPH as up to eight boats race for the first buoy. They usually do 3 laps. Circuit racing can be found in the Eastern states and there is a big meeting in Mildura every year. Last year there were 25 Unlimited boats, so they had to break them up into classes. We were due to get there this year but the (project...) car wasn't quite finished. Be warned - go once and you'll be back!
