At least your pulling the manifold off, the minimum you must do is wash the hell out of it and flood it with kerosene. Although I worry about the debris in the oil galleries and the oli pump. If it drove some distance, you'll already have shrapnel deposited in the bearings and quite often on the piston skirts, if the engine is a reasonable engine just pull it out and pull it down. If you dont care about it, just wash it up as best as you can.
