Just a quickie......... Which way do I turn the adjustment on the vacuum modulator to have it hold gear longer?

Also.... What would be causing the Tri-matic in my WB Stato to hold second faaaaaAAARRRRRR too long? All was good, pulled out motor for quick rebuild, put it back in and now it holds gear too long.
