My first ever brand new bike was a 2000 ktm 300, WOW, i love two strokes, i had it for nearly 5 years, did about 5000kms, and i only changed the rings when i sold it so i could say "new piston and rings mate". my next bike i bought is a 05 Husaberg 450 (brand new at the time), mainly cause i just wanted "the button". But now of course the 300 has "the button" also with a wet/dry switch.
300's have heaps of torque and you don't need to ride it "on the pipe" to get places. saying that, the 450 is really good and quite different to ride.
at the end of the day its what u can afford, what colour u like and do u like 2t or 4t, these days all bikes are great!!!!!!

P.S. i also looooooovvvvvvveee the smell of two strokes, mmmmmmmm........ twoooo strokes.
