righto.
they are as easy as shit the hei. i reckon any way, only cause there aint no way you can burn your coil out by hooking it up wrong, and they seem to perform pretty good too.
any way. get your motor TDC, i find they easiest way is to remove #1 plug and put a small screwdriver in the hole, then turn the motor over by hand, when the screwdriver falls out you know the pistons on it's way up, then just turn the motor over till your timing mark on the balancer is aligned with 0 on the indicator(this is usually bolted on with the timing case.)
right once you got every thing on 0(zero) place your dizzy down it's hole. now keep in mind what is described as the pin lock in yank terms is what i call a keyway. if you look up the centre at the gear end of the dizzy you will see the shaft has a peice of steel in it's centre, this is what is refered to as the pin lock or key way. when you place the dizzy down it will only drop all the way to the manifold in two positions i allways put the rotor button facing toward #1. place the cap on and move the dizzy base till you can line one of the plug lead post exactly with the rotor tip. mark this post as #1. tighten dizzy down but only firm so you can still move it a little. hook up the leads in the firing order in a clockwise direction. hook up your ignition wire to the battery positive marked on the top of the dizzy and the tacho to the other. double check all plugs are tight and leads are on and out of way of the extractors and give it a go.
if the car starts to choof out the carbi you have the dizzy locked in the wrong position, leave the leads on the cap just remove the ignition and tacho and base plug wires from the cap, lift the dizzy out and spin it 180deg from it's original position, keep in mind it will only drop completely to the manifold in the opposite position then what it was previously. replace cap and wires and give it another go. if when you do this again and it is popping back threw the exhaust you will only need to move the dizzy base to get the finer #1 post lined with the button.
hope this helps and it's not to complicated.
