Yes, this is true. Only on 'V' engines do you really have a need to choose single or dual plane.

Triple carb manifolds for the hemi six (I think) are all individual runner type so a plenum setup between two runners with a flange suitable for the gas carb would be required. While you at it you could calculate the lengths of runners for the inlet manifold although it wouldn't have as a dramatic effect as a petrol system would.
